It seems search engines are awash with people searching for the best place to buy fragrance oils for candles.
Erm, hello! You are already in the best possible place to buy candle fragrance oils! Here at VINEVIDA!
When we first decided to create our very own range of fragrance oils, we knew we wanted to carry the best candle fragrance oils on the market. We worked at length with professional formulators to create an ultra-high-quality product. One that would stand up to the rigors of the candle and soap-making process and the high heat they would potentially be exposed to.
VINEVIDA now has two ranges of first-class fragrance oils to offer you, with over 200 exciting options.
- VINEVIDA Diffuser fragrance oils are for cold air (CAD) and nebulizing diffusers
- VINEVIDA Soaps & Candles fragrance oils are skin safe, designed for soaps, candles, skincare, perfumery and topical products
If you are looking to purchase the best fragrance oils for candles, make sure that you always purchase the professionally formulated Soaps & Candles version of your chosen fragrance oil, for the best results and the most intense scent.
We do not recommend using the Diffuser variation in candles, they are simply not formulated for this purpose.
Therefore, you can stop looking at where to buy fragrance oils for candles, you found us already! It’s simply a question of looking through the variety of fragrance oils for candle making that we offer, and choosing what appeals to you. Let me set you on the right course….
Notes on Candle Fragrance Oil Flashpoints
Why is the Candle Fragrance Oil Flashpoint?
A candle fragrance oil's flash point tells you what temperature at which the fragrance oil will combust should it be exposed to a spark or naked flame.
Always take care that the flashpoint of your candle fragrance oil is higher than the melting point of the wax you have chosen.
Gel waxes can be very useful here because they need candle fragrance oils with high flash points. Most need candle fragrance oils to have flash points of at least 170° F.
Low Flashpoints
If the flashpoint of a candle fragrance oil is too low, sometimes this can lead to quite weak-smelling candles. There are ways to mitigate this though. Make small batches of candles that can be poured in one go. Avoid reheating the wax too many times, as this can also degrade the quality and intensity of the candle fragrance oil.
Shipping Products that Contain Candle Fragrance Oils
The flash point of a candle fragrance oil will also determine how you can ship it.
Low candle fragrance oil flashpoints mean they can only be delivered over ground methods.
Products containing candle fragrance oils with flashpoints of over 141°F can be shipped by air via USPS or UPS 2nd Day Air.
That said, please consult your chosen carriers, in case of modifications to their rules. they may have different rules.
Our Favorite Seasonal Blends With Candle Fragrance Oils
If you are candle-making and using just one candle fragrance oil instead of creating your own unique blend, then you are missing a trick, especially if you are selling candles.
I’m always nosy about what other people are producing and I had a chance to walk around a craft fair last weekend. There were four stalls selling candles and every single one of them was carrying three or four candles, wax melts, or soaps in identical fragrance profiles to their competitors.
When some of the stalls were only displaying 12 candles for sale, that means up to 25% of their stock could be purchased at a competitor's stall. No one needs that kind of competition! Don’t be afraid to step outside of the box and create your own candle fragrance oil blends to set yourself ahead of the crowd.
Let me show you how easy it is!
You Will Need:
- Small measuring jug
- Stainless steel spoon
- Funnel
- 50 ml bottle
- One of the blend recipes below or your own selection of candle fragrance oils
Method:
- Carefully measure your candle fragrance oils and combine together.
- Use a funnel and decant your candle fragrance oils blend into a 50 ml bottle.
- Use an oil and waterproof label and clearly list all ingredients.
- Label as ‘UNDILUTED OILS’ and add a date of production.
Coconut and Vanilla Candle Fragrance Oils Blends
I have chosen two huge best sellers, coconut and vanilla, to start our seasonal scents.
You may think coconut is a strange choice, but these two scents are quite special in the way that they can invoke comfort in us and they can bolster our sense of safety and place. The scents do this because they remind us of holidays or home comforts and often of being a carefree child.
Aromas of coconut and vanilla can evoke the vision of clutching oven-warm vanilla cookies, coconut macaroons, or tucking into an apple pie and custard straight from the oven.
I could have purchased singularly scented coconut and vanilla candles at this craft fair from all stalls, that's a great choice as a consumer. As an entrepreneur, though that's competition you can easily avoid. So how can you rejig your vanilla and coconut products and make them more individually appealing to customers?
Try this Vanilla Blend:
It has an odor-eliminating base giving you an extra selling point for your candle. While the Vanilla Luxe adds depth and complexity to the overall blend. Simply combining just two candle fragrance oils gives you these extra selling points. All you need is a swanky name and an eye-catching high-end label.
Try this Coconut Blend:
Coconut is the scent of summer, tropical hideaways, and delicious Asian food, and customers love it! However, it does not have to be confined to summer scents, we can use it all year round.
Customers tend to be seeking something coconut-rich, but with a little extra twist, so let’s give them one with this blend.
It has a distinct coconut heart but ribbons of holiday spirit run subtly through it. You can swap the proportions and make it stronger in spice if you wish, or ramp up the juicy orange aromas. Just keep the coconut firmly center stage and call it something like Coconut Spice or Coconut Christmas
Holiday Collection Candle Fragrance Oils Blends
Whether you make candles professionally or just to scent your home, we need to have some tried and tested candle fragrance oil blends to fall back on for the holiday period. Let me share my favorite blend recipes from my own holiday collection. They smell amazing. Remember, no one else has these candle fragrance oil blends, so set yourself apart from the crowd. Why not go one step further and create your own magical blends, you can see how easy it is.
We Three Kings
The Three Kings brought gifts of Frankincense, Gold, and Myrrh to the newborn baby Jesus and we can emulate these sacred gifts in the candle fragrance oils we choose for our holiday-scented candles. This blend is rich, warming, and complex, perfect for the season.
The Holly & The Ivy
The Holly and The Ivy Is a wonderful Christmas song, watch it performed by the choir at King’s College Cambridge. This candle fragrance oil blends evokes the splendor of the season but with those rich glossy, and earthy green undertones of the holly and ivy leaves.
Walking In The Air
Liz loves Aled Jones, who sang Walking In The Air from the film The Snowman. Now I have busted her not-so-guilty pleasure...this candle fragrance oils blend is meant to evoke walking out in the snowy forest. Warm breath curling in cold air and crunch of fresh snow underfoot. The world glistens silently, sounds muffled by the snow.
Seasonal Staples Candle Fragrance Oils Blends
Love the season but not the holidays? You are not alone in that sentiment, so let’s create some seasonal candle fragrance oil blends that have absolutely nothing to do with the holidays.
All Things Nice & Spice
No matter where you go from the end of September through to about March it’s all about the spice. Spiced lattes, spiced muffins, spiced this, spiced that, spice, spice, spice. That is why it is always a big seller at this time of the year. People love it.
However, there is only so much cinnamon that you can do, look around at other spices you can use. The luscious orange tones of cardamom and coriander seed, warming nutmeg and ginger, and the gorgeous depth of clove and allspice. There are so many other lovely spicy aromas to choose from here. Don’t forget to have a look at the essential oil section too for these gorgeous aromatic oils.
This balances beautifully fresh aspects from No. 1115, with the sweetness of NO. 68 and the spice of NO. 65, just lovely. By all means, play with the proportions to create different accords.
Curl Up In Front Of The Fire
Who doesn’t love curling up with a blanket in front of a roaring open fire? A hot drink or a glass of wine and an hour of blissful rest and peace. Sounds lovely doesn’t it?
We can emulate these precious moments in a candle fragrance oils blend, to help set the scene or trick our mind when we are too busy to curl up in front of the fire.
We want a dash of smoke to emulate the open fire, some comforting vanilla or spice to set the season, and the aroma of your favorite drink.
Variations: Feel free to swap the NO. 28 - Coffee Latte for these Soaps & Candles fragrance oil alternatives:
By all means, adjust the balance and proportion to create more harmonious accords with these alternatives.
My Comfort Habit
Winter is a time when we like to retreat from the world a little, tuck ourselves up, and indulge in our favorite comforts. In Scandinavia, they call it Hygge.
There are so many VINEVIDA candle fragrance oils that you could choose from here. The childhood-inspired sweetness of NO. 68 - Sugar Cookie or the more grown-up mouthwatering temptations of NO. 2210 - Inspired by: Brazilian Bum Bum by Sol De Janeiro. Maybe, just the thought of NO. 23 - Cinnamon Roll or NO. 2 - Apple Hot Baked Pie brings you comfort.
For me, it would be the divine aroma of NO. 1200 - Inspired by: Ambre by Diptyque. It brings me both comfort and joy, I find it uplifting, and calming and it encourages me to stop and enjoy the aroma for a while. Mix that with roses and oh my, I’m done for!
Don’t be afraid to choose your own candle fragrance oils and create your own individual and unique comforting blend. For now, here’s mine!
Kids and Candle Fragrance Oils Blends
Kids love the holidays! Unfortunately, kids and candles don’t tend to go well together but don’t let the kids miss out on amazing aromas over the holiday. Create some just for them but use them slightly differently.
The scent is one of the most evocative senses we have and you can make memories even more special by underpinning the whole experience with a certain scent or fragrance. In the same way, most adults have happy memories when it comes to a vanilla or cinnamon aroma.
The electric wax melts diffusers or VINEVIDA oil diffusers are perfect for scenting your kids' room over the holiday period. Why not create a wonderful aromatic blend for Christmas Eve and for waking up on Christmas morning, how magical would that be for your children?
We can still make joyful and exciting candle fragrance oil blends for the kids, but we just need to use them differently.
(Guys, you can also sneak some Lavender essential oil in there and help them sleep a bit better on the big night too! Only for those over 6 months of age though please).
For wax melts - follow the instructions given in Vanilla Luxe Wax Melts.
For diffuser blends for cold air or nebulizing diffusers - remember to use VINEVIDA Diffuser fragrance oils
Peppermint Candy Galore
Kids just love peppermint candy canes. I think because my Mom would not buy them when we were kids; as an adult, I go a bit nuts for them and pop them on the tree and drop them into gift bags or tie them on as extra decorations.
This candle fragrance oil blend evokes these wonderful candies and is perfect to emulate a crisp winter’s day.
Santa’s Been!
How can we emulate Santa’s visit in an aroma with candle fragrance oils? Easily!
Think cookies and cream, a dash of cold wintry air, and a faint wisp of leather reindeer reins …. And is that Santa’s cologne?
The kids will be mesmerized by waking up with this playful candle fragrance oil blend for Christmas morning.
Grannie’s Holiday Kitchen
My two-year Grandson just loves being in the kitchen with me and ‘helping’. This week, he made his first cake and some rather delicious Apple Whirls. We enjoyed every minute and kids tend to hold special memories of their grannies' kitchen, especially around the holidays.
You can tailor this to your own special memories and choose candle fragrance oils that best suit your vision.
Here’s one that I think you will love and so will the kids.
Projects For The Kids Over The Holiday Season With Candle Fragrance Oils
You have all of these wonderful candle fragrance oils at home and if they are of the VINEVIDA Soaps & Candles variety, you can use them for a whole host of other entertaining projects.
Here are some fun projects to keep the kids occupied over the holiday season. They are small projects that are wonderful if you have any excess candle fragrance oils that need to be used up.
Just remember to wear gloves and to dilute them appropriately for these projects.

The Final Word
I do hope that this article has given you some idea of how to get the best out of candle fragrance oils for yourself, your friends and family, or your business.
VINEVIDA specifically designed this fragrance oil for candles to withstand the intensity of heat of the candle-making process. Yet, our Soaps & Candles fragrance is so much more than just fragrance oils for candles and wax products. They can be used for skin-safe products like soap, lotions, moisturizers, and perfumes.
The Soaps & Candles range withstands the rigors of heat processes like candle and soap making and creating balms and salves. They give you a wonderfully intense scent that is extremely resilient and long-lived.
Use our candle fragrance oils to create your own aromatic collections, that smell wonderful and will be long-lasting and highly desirable. Be prepared for friends and family to see your creations and want one too!
Remember, if you are selling candles professionally, set yourself apart and create your own bespoke blends that cannot be easily replicated by your immediate competitors. Having the same fragrance as all of your competitors, does you no favors. Blend, blend, blend!
Set yourself apart from the crowd and make your products unique to you. When customers want to re-order, they will only be able to get your unique blend from you, meaning more repeat custom for your business.
Have fun creating scented candles with all the candle fragrance oil blends on offer and don’t forget to make the big day magical for the kids too!
