Fragrance Oil Of The Week: NO. 3001- Inspired By: Coco Chanel #5 By Chanel

NO. 3001 Soaps and Candles Fragrance Oil Showcase

VINEVIDA No. 3001 is an imitation of COCO CHANEL #5™, a trademark of Chanel Inc. VINEVIDA and its products are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any way associated with Chanel Inc. or its trademarks.

VINEVIDA NO. 3001 fragrance oil is undeniably feminine. It’s floral, warmly spiced, powdery, and woody. Its fragrance notes lead you to the most sensuous, romantic dance.

Bright, fresh Mandarin notes marry with mouthwatering Peach notes and you are welcomed by a dash of Coriander. Floral heart notes take center stage with Rose, Neroli, and Jasmine entwining with delicate Clover and joyful Mimosa.

However, it’s the array of beautiful base notes that really steals the show. Clove pairs with smooth Vanilla and Tonka for a mouthwatering accord, while divine Amber meets the richness of Sandalwood, Opoponax, and Labdanum. Finally, a flush of Civet, for that animal finish.

NO. 3001 is one of our most popular fragrance oils here at VINEVIDA and regularly features in our top 5 perfume bestsellers.

Fragrance Notes

    • Top: Coriander, Peach, Mandarin
    • Mid: Mimosa, Orange Blossom, Rose, Jasmine
    • Bottom: Sandalwood, Tonka, Clove, Amber, Vanilla

Ways To Use NO. 3001 Fragrance Oil

Ways To Use NO. 3001 Fragrance Oil

There are two different versions of this fragrance oil available at VINEVIDA.

If you have Nebulizing or Cold Air Diffusers, then purchase NO. 3001 - For Cold Air Diffusers.

VINEVIDA Diffuser Fragrance Oils are specifically designed for these diffusers and they should only be used for this purpose.

The VINEVIDA Soaps and Candles (S&C) Fragrance Oil variety is amazingly versatile. They are perfectly suited to all your toiletries, and skin care needs. This type of fragrance oil has been formulated to withstand the rigorous heat processes when making candles and soaps.

None of our fragrance oils contain Parabens, Phthalates, SLS, or  SLES so you can trust them on your skin. Here at VINEVIDA, we take your skincare as seriously as you do.

You can rest assured that VINEVIDA fragrance oils are never tested on animals either.

Come on a journey of discovery using fragrance oils and let’s look at using them in three distinct categories: Topical Products, Scenting The Home, and Diffusers and Candle Burners.

Topical Products

It’s very easy to create your own quality skin care using VINEVIDA S&C fragrance oils, even in the comfort of your own home.

We stock two types of NO. 3001  fragrance oil here at VINEVIDA. For topical products choose the Soaps and Candles Fragrance Oil option. They are designed by industry professionals to work with an exciting range of natural ingredients. They easily blend into a variety of bases, like carrier oils, cosmetic butter, and candle waxes.

VINEVIDA S&C fragrance oils excel in skin care because they are carefully designed to retain both their integrity and fragrance. This is especially so when the base ingredients need to be heated to make Beauty Balms, Body Butters, and Skin Salves.

Soap

Expect dependable results when making Cold Process and  Melt and Pour Soaps. VINEVIDA S&C fragrance oils are designed to withstand the intense heat and rigors of the soap-making process.

Use NO. 3001 to create a romantic and classically elegant soap with a powdery floral and spicy scent. Perfect for any time of the day, the soaps can be placed anywhere in the home. Even though it is an unmistakably feminine scent, it works well in soap that appeals to the masses.

Also because the beautiful complex base notes are numerous, it is not difficult to tip NO. 3001 towards a more masculine slant but adding yet more base notes.

Toiletries

You will want the masterful scent of NO. 3001 to linger through the day. Help things along by blending it into products with a high oil or cosmetic butter content. Oils help scent last longer. For that reason, it is highly recommended for making Luxe Crémes, Massage Oils, and Bath Oils.

Protect Surfaces and Furnishings From Fragrance Oil

Disclaimer: As oil-based products, fragrance oils may stain polished and painted surfaces, furniture, and furnishings. Please take steps to protect surfaces before use. It would be wise to carry out patch tests in inconspicuous areas, especially on your more precious surfaces and linens.

Diffusers and Candle Burners

Diffusers and Candle Burners

Aromatherapy Candle Burners

You may use VINEVIDA  NO. 3001 S&C fragrance oil in all types of aromatherapy candle burners.

Diffusers

VINEVIDA Soaps and Candles Fragrance Oil should NEVER be used in your Nebulizing or Cold Air Diffusers. The fluid itself is too thick and viscous and could block the delicate nozzles on these types of diffusers.

Use NO. 3001 DIFFUSER Fragrance Oil If you have a Nebulizing or Cold Air diffuser.

We understand that with all the different types of diffusers on the market, it's confusing, especially when it comes to knowing which fragrance oil to choose. We are here to help guide the way and give you comprehensive guidance on a variety of applications in How To Use VINEVIDA Oils.

However, when it comes to your own diffuser, it is always going to be our first recommendation to consult the manufacturer's instructions. You must get their specific guidance on your machine, please.

Blending Recommendations

NO. 3001 is a romantic and distinguished scent. It is wonderfully sophisticated but you can still make it your own by adding a little flourish with VINEVIDA fragrance oils and essential oils.

Our fragrance oils make ideal blending companions and we highly recommend experimenting and trying new blends for yourself.

I like to ramp up the top notes with sharp citrus notes like NO. 1301- Inspired By: Bergamote 22 By Le Labo. Add a dash of smoky woods with NO. 1203-Inspired By: Feu De Bois By Diptyque

Add to the front end of the fragrance with tart and zingy citrus essential oils like Pink Grapefruit, and Bergamot, and add spice to the heart notes with the fruity accords of Cardamom, Black Pepper, and Pink Pepper.

NO. 3001 Diffuser Blends

It’s so easy to create an exciting selection of diffuser blends for your home, let's get started!

This is a masterful fragrance all on its own.  The base notes of this scent are pretty complex and don’t leave much room down there. Therefore, you will need to know the exact places where you can add your own little flourish and this is in the top and heart notes.

Let me just refresh your minds on the fragrance notes and I’ll advise you on the best choices and recommendations. Have fun experimenting and trying out new things with one.

Follow This Framework

  1. Keep the top notes sharp, tart, and vivid. Opt for citrus oils or fruit-based fragrances.
  2. Keep the heart space floral and spicy with more Neroli and Rose, and add Helichrysum for an herbal note. Go easy on the herbs and stick to those with ‘dry scents’ like Bay Leaf and Fennel. The fruity notes of Pink Pepper would be perfect here balanced with the deeper notes of Black Pepper.
  3. For a more masculine profile use spices like Pink Pepper, Cardamom, and Clove, alongside those ‘dry’ herbs.
  4. Leave the base as it is, apart from perhaps adding in some smoke for a more masculine effect.
  5. Don’t forget when you add a dash of Vanilla, it affects our whole limbic system. Helping to foster feelings of comfort, security, and safety. It's an inspired addition to any blend to help people feel safer in your space.
  6. If you work one drop at a time, then stop to mix and test, and you can’t go wrong. Over time this helps you build your blending confidence and skills.

We want you to be successful which is why we provide this easy-to-follow framework. It helps to maintain the balance of the overall scent and therefore, improves your chances of success.

IFRA Safety

Diffuser Blends come under IFRA Category 12 in which NO. 3001 Fragrance oil has no safety restrictions. This means that within reason, you may use as much as you want. However, please understand that more does not always mean better. You still need to find that happy balance in the scent profile.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have a Nebulizing or Cold Air Diffuser use the DIFFUSER Fragrance Oil variation please. NEVER use the Soaps & Candles variation in these types of diffusers! They are simply too thick and viscous for these machines.

Method:

  1. These Diffuser Blends are so simple to create for yourself in the comfort of your own home.
  2. Carefully measure out each of the recipes' essential oils and fragrance oils into a small measuring jug.
  3. Using a stainless steel spoon, combine them all together.
  4. Don’t skip using a funnel to help decant the oils into a 10ml dropper bottle, it helps to keep the bottle clean. If you can stop the bottle from getting oily it helps your label to adhere better to a clean, dry bottle.
  5. Get every last precious morsel of oil from the jug and funnel using a quality silicone spatula to help you scrape it out. It minimizes any waste and gets all your money’s worth. Of course, this is even more important when using expensive essential oils and absolutes.  Do your bit for your bank account and the Earth!
  6. List all of the ingredients on an oil-proof label.
  7. ALWAYS label your bottle as ‘UNDILUTED’ for obvious safety reasons!

How To Use:

  1. As we said before, you will need to consult your manufacturer's instructions for their specific guidance on your individual diffuser. As you all have different diffusers.
  2. It is possible that you may need to dilute your blend to suit your individual diffuser.

Classically Coco

Classically Coco

Coco Chanel was the epitome of classic, understated elegance and sophistication. She knew style and what it was to be a woman at a time when women were being emancipated. I wonder what she would make of the women of today?

I’ve added in tart citrus notes and just a dash of those dry herbs to expand on the profile even further. Keeping it fresh and bright, but with a little bit ‘extra’.

Ingredients:

    Safety:

      • Not designed for use on the skin.
      • Do not diffuse where cats are present.

    Coco Le Male

    Coco Le Male

How do you take something so obviously feminine and make it more masculine? Just like this.

I’ve extended the spices in the heart notes to compete with the florals, go easy because you don’t want to break that delicious balance. Adding in that smoke note changes the whole profile and makes it a whole lot more mysterious like it is hanging back in the shadows.

Go easy with that smoke in NO.1203 though please, too much and you’ll ruin it. Use a dropper if necessary. 1ml is roughly equivalent to 20 drops depending on the viscosity of your oil. Add 10 drops first and see how you like it, add more if you feel it needs it, up to 20 drops.

    Ingredients:

      Safety:

        • Not designed for use on the skin.
        • Do not diffuse where cats are present.

      The Epitome of Sophistication

Fill your home with the classically elegant and sophisticated fragrance with this sublime diffuser blend.

A gentle touch in the top notes with a kiss of Mandarin and Litsea Cubeba and then distinctive, fruity Pink Pepper in the heart notes, for some warmth and vibrancy. Followed by the smooth, comforting finish of Vanilla.

      Ingredients:

        Safety:

          • Not designed or formulated for topical use on the skin.
          • Do not diffuse where cats are present.

DIY Recipes Using NO. 3001 Soaps and Candles Fragrance Oil

We get so passionate about the possibilities of VINEVIDA’s Soaps and Candles fragrance oils and their sheer versatility never fails to excite us. Start your journey of discovery and prepare to be amazed at the variety of projects you can create with our fragrance oils.

This week, we have the sophisticated and classically elegant NO. 3001. It’s the epitome of style, echoing the 1980s when women were making their mark on the world and breaking the glass ceiling. It’s absolutely perfect for skincare and toiletries, which is where we are going today!

First, we are going to make Facial Massage Oil. I've packed it with all the good stuff to make your skin glow and found an epic video for you to follow and give yourself the best facial massage treatment ever!

For our second project, we have a Cellulite Luxe Créme. Cellulite is a bugbear for many of us and some of the more professional treatments can be painful and frankly, traumatic! This is the exact opposite, relaxing and heavenly, and it will still target your cellulite. I know which I prefer!

        Facial Massage Oil

        Facial Massage Oil

This is one of those recipes, that once you have made it, you stand back admiring your first-class product and ask yourself “Is it really this easy”? Well yes, yes it is!

It’s a small but mighty little oil, stuffed full of skin-nourishing oils and bursting with antioxidants. Antioxidants are used widely throughout the industry to fight the signs of aging and tackle those pesky free radicals.

Sea Buckthorn oil is simply brimming with antioxidants and fatty acids, it’s about the only plant that naturally has Omega 7 which is associated with lowering inflammation. If you cannot get it, simply use more Jojoba, or even add in some Argan oil, if you have it.

        Video Tutorial

Remember, that half the benefit comes from the massage itself. I found an INCREDIBLE tutorial from Abigail James, it’s designed for you to relax as you watch it and follow the steps along with her. I tried it with this recipe and my skin was literally glowing afterwards. It was utterly blissful.

        IFRA Safety

          How To Use:

            1. ALWAYS carry out a 24 - 48 hour patch test before using it on your face, please.
            2. Warm a few drops of oil in your palm or a small bowl.
            3. Work over the face in upward circular motions. Ideally, follow Abigail’s video once a week.
            4. Use 2-3 times a week and use within 3-6 months.

          Cellulite Luxe Crème

Cellulite Luxe CrèmeNO. 3001 is such a sophisticated fragrance making it the perfect choice for rich and nourishing products like this. The oils help the fragrance have a longer-lasting effect and linger on the skin longer.

Again, massage is the key here and just as important as the Cellulite Luxe Créme itself. Check the skin feel of this as you are making it, you want it to be on the oilier side. It will give a better massage experience.

          IFRA Safety and Guidelines

In IFRA Category 5A -  NO. 3001 Soaps and Candles fragrance oil has a maximum safety dilution recommendation of 2.54%. This means you cannot use more than 2.54 ml of NO. 3001 in 100 ml of Cellulite Luxe Créme.

There is no option on the VINEVIDA calculator for Cellulite Luxe Créme, use the option for Body Cream to work out the correct safety data in the right category. It will give you the same results with those settings.

          You Will Need:

            • Hand or Stand mixer
            • Measuring scale
            • Double boiler
            • Mixing bowl or measuring jug
            • Stainless steel spoon
            • Silicone Spatula
            • Jar funnel
            • 100 ml jar
            • Label

            Ingredients:

Optional:  Preservative - follow your individual manufacturer's guidance.

              Safety:

                • Do not use it during pregnancy, please.

              Grapefruit Specific -

                • Not suitable to use for people who have platelet disorders or are on blood thinning medication. It is suggested you cease the use of grapefruit essential oil 48 hours before any planned surgery.
                • Grapefruit is one of cold-pressed citrus oils that can be phytotoxic. Do not expose your skin to the sun, UV rays, or sunbeds for 12 hours after application.

              Method:

                1. If you are using a preservative, follow the manufacturer's instructions. Note how much to add and when in the process of adding it.
Melting the Wax and Cosmetic Butter.
                1. Waxes and Cosmetic Butters want to be heated minimally to retain their qualities. Therefore, set a double boiler over low heat and make sure the base is not touching the water.
                2. Pop the Beeswax into the double boiler, let it melt slowly, and stir to help it along if you like.
                3. When the Beeswax is about half melted add the Shea Butter and allow them both to melt.
                4. Lastly, add the Coconut carrier oil, the very moment it melts remove it all from the heat, separate it from the water pan, and leave it to cool for a moment.
                5. After a couple of minutes, tip it into a small bowl that will fit in the fridge. Get every last morsel with a good spatula.
              The Cool Down
                1. Put the bowl in the fridge for at least 20-30 minutes.
                2. Now, you are looking for a particular sweet spot. You are looking for the stage where it is just starting to solidify but is not totally solid all the way through.
                3. It makes sense while you are waiting for this to cool, to measure out the rest of your ingredients. You want to have them to hand so you can work quickly.
                4. As soon as you reach the sweet spot with the wax and butter, take the bowl out of the fridge and decant the mix into a large mixing bowl. Again, make sure you get every last nourishing morsel out of the bowl.
              Mixing it All Together
                1. With a stand or hand mixer set on low, start to whisk the mix.
                2. As soon as it has softened a bit, start to add the carrier oils in a steady stream. Make sure that you allow the oil to become fully incorporated before adding another ingredient.
                3. Add the Glycerine and whisk again until combined.
                4. Now hear me here! You are trying to add a water-based product to wax, oil, and butter, so you need to do it VERY slowly to allow it a chance to emulsify. Turn your mixer up a notch and add the Aqueous Cream, literally a ½ tsp at a time, and whisk thoroughly to emulsify.
                5. Give it a good final whisk to ensure that the ingredients are all fully incorporated.
              Getting The Consistency Right
                1. Now, before you add any essential oils or fragrance oil you want to check the ‘skin feel’ of your Luxe Cream and try it out on your skin. There are a few things you can do here to change it at this stage. But please bear in mind that an oilier-than-normal skin feel is just what you want to massage with!
OK, here we go, here’s how you can alter it:
                • Does it feel lumpy or grainy? It is because the waxes or butter did not get fully incorporated. Try mixing it more thoroughly. If this does not work, try a more powerful whisk or mixer. However, I like to think of them as ‘magic pearls’ of nourishment and they soon disappear as you rub them into your skin. They are a tiny issue in the grand scheme of life!
                • If the ‘skin feel’ is a bit too oily for you, remember you WANT it to be. But if it is way too oily for you, add some Kaolin Clay Powder. (You can use Arrowroot but it will drastically affect its shelf life, you need to use it up within a couple of weeks even with a preservative).
                • Perhaps, it feels too thick for you? You can slacken the mixture off using more Rosewater. Alternatively, use a hydrosol, or spring water.
                • Maybe, it feels too thin and not rich enough? Did you miss something? Just double-check check you followed the recipe right first, please. If you did, it could be down to your individual ingredients. Address it by melting, semi-cooling, and mixing in more cosmetic butter.  Mango Butter is a wonderfully hard butter if you have it, if not, add more Shea Butter. However, you will likely end up with the ‘magic pearls of nourishment’, adding it at this stage.
              The Finishing Touches
                1. Once you have the consistency right, you can add your fragrance oil and essential oil blend. Whisk it until it is thoroughly combined and beautifully fragrant.
                2. Use a jar funnel to decant the gloriousness into a 100ml jar and clean the rim meticulously, to prevent mold growth.
                3. Again - please listen to me here, allow the mix to cool fully. Cover it with a clean cloth and just leave it until it is completely cool. If you did it now it locks warmth and moisture in that becomes a breeding ground for mold and bacteria.
                4. Once cool, lid tightly.
                5. Label clearly, listing all ingredients for safety reasons.
                6. Add the production date and a 3-6 month expiration date.

              How to Use:

                1. Please, carry out a 24- 48 hour patch test before using it on your body.
                2. Apply it liberally, and avoid your intimate areas.
                3. Bear in mind, that the massaging effect is as equally important as the Cellulite Luxe Créme. Take your time to massage it well and follow lymphatic drainage techniques for extra efficacy.
                4. This is best used at night, you’ll literally feel your skin ‘drinking’ in the goodness of this créme.
                5. Given this is so rich and nourishing, we don’t recommend using it daily. Use no more than 2-3 times a week because it is a real treat and a rich experience for your body.

Let the romantic notes of NO. 3001 takes you on a sensuous dance. Mandarin and Peach make your mouth water as Coriander welcomes you into the profile. The heart notes are overflowing with flowers, find powdery Rose, intoxicating Neroli and Jasmine entwining with the delicateness of Clover and playfully joyful aroma of Mimosa.

The base notes steal the show and take center stage as Clove dances with smooth Vanilla and soft Tonka. The divine aroma of Amber melds with the richness of Sandalwood, Labdanum, and Opoponax. It would not be complete without that final animalistic flourish of Civet.
