NO. 1110 - Inspired By: Downy April Fresh By Bath & Body Works Soaps & Candles Fragrance Oil Showcase
NO. 1110 - Inspired By: Downy April Fresh By Bath & Body Works evokes the joys of the warming, lengthening days of spring and embodies it into a fragrance oil. Bright and full of the zest of spring with dancing citrus notes. Making a crisp, clean, and welcoming introduction to this scent.
Floral heart notes are playful, vibrant, and delightful. English Roses entwine through a bower of intoxicating Jasmine. Sweet, floral, delicate, and then heady and seductive. Busy bees buzz through the blooms, collecting pollen as they go.
The base notes draw you down into rich fragrant woods like Cedarwood and precious Sandalwood. Finally, the whole profile is smoothed and rounded off with the alluring and seductive Musk.
It’s a fragrance bursting with the joys of spring, vibrant, enlivening, and refreshing. We can’t get enough of it here at VINEVIDA.
Fragrance Notes

You can easily blend VINEVIDA soap and candle fragrance oils into a variety of different bases. This way you can create your own unique and quality skin care products. Try them with natural ingredients like Cocoa Butter, Soy Wax, and our carrier oils.

Try adding it to your homemade Blush Tint and tinted powders as well.

- Try deepening down the base with earthy, woody, and more spicy notes.
- A dash of Vanilla can do things to our limbic system and foster feelings of comfort, safety, and feeling secure. Making it perfect to use in your home and to unwind with after a stressful day.
- Work one drop at a time, mix and test, and try not to be too heavy-handed with it.
Working with this framework helps you to maintain the original balance of the overall scent profile, enhancing your chances of success.
Diffuser Blends fall into IFRA Category 12 NO. 1110 - Inspired By: Downy April Fresh By Bath & Body Works fragrance oil has no safety restrictions in this category.
NOTE: Please note, if you have a Cold Air Diffuser, use the variation labeled DIFFUSER Fragrance Oil instead. Do NOT use the Soaps & Candles variation
Method:
- Diffusers Blends are easy to make at home. Dispense your chosen fragrance oil and essential oils into a small measuring jug and blend them together.
- Then simply decant your mixture into a 10ml dropper bottle. If you use a funnel it makes life easier. Having a scrupulously clean, oil-free bottle helps your labels stick more effectively!
- Use a good quality, soft silicone spatula to scrape every last drop of oil out of the jug and funnel. This minimizes any waste and helps you get every cent worth into the bottle!
- Apply an oil-proof label, and make sure to list all of the ingredients.
- It is really important to label your bottle as ‘UNDILUTED’ for safety reasons.
How To Use:
- Please follow the manufacturer's instructions for your own individual diffuser.
- Dilute your blend, if you are instructed to do so.

DIY Recipes Using NO. 1110 - Inspired By: Downy April Fresh By Bath & Body Works Soaps & Candles Fragrance Oil
It is easy to get excited about the potentialities of VINEVIDA Soaps and candle fragrance oils because they are so versatile and you can create so many different projects.
This week, we have the vibrant and uplifting NO. 1110. You can build upon it and blend it with other fragrance oils and essential oils to make the perfect Signature Home Scent. I wanted to show you two different ways that you can use it and layer it for a crisp, clean, finish to your laundry.
NO. 1110 is perfect for scenting your home and so we have two easy laundry projects you might not have tried yet. What are you waiting for?First, we have an effective, but gentle Laundry Detergent. Yes! You can easily make your own from common household products that you may already have at the bottom of the cupboard. Get rooting and experiment with this one.
Tumble dryer sheets and Wool Dryer Balls are one of the simplest projects going, you can rustle this up in less than five minutes and get instant results. If you like a quick win, this one's for you.
Don’t forget, you can change up the scents as often as you like, just whip up a new batch. Imagine that, never being confined just to the fragrances on the shelves in the stores. You can use your favorite perfume dupe or create your own Signature Home Scent. There’s so much scope for ingenuity and creativity here, it’s wild!
Laundry Detergent
There are so many reasons to make your own Laundry Detergent. It gives you control over all of the ingredients, choose less toxic chemicals, avoid unnecessary fillers, and scent it to suit your mood. You can also save a LOT of money, Laundry Detergent is expensive to buy and once you try this, I doubt you will want to use anything else.
This is strong enough to remove most dirt, stains, and odors, but is also gentle on your skin and the planet. You will need:
- Baking Soda - Softens the water, brightens whites, keeps colors vibrant, helps to extend the life of your clothes, and neutralizes pesky odors.
- Hydrogen Peroxide - deodorizes your fabrics and aids with stain removal.
- Borax - Absorbs dirt, contains enzymes that help neutralize odors, keeps whites and colors bright, and softens the water.
- Castile Soap - To create some suds, lift dirt away and trap it in the water, remove stains, and deodorize your fabrics.
For handwashing it falls into IFRA Category 10A - NO. 1110 - Inspired By: Downy April Fresh By Bath & Body Works Soaps and Candles fragrance oil has a maximum safety dilution recommendation of 1.85%. This means that in 1 liter of Laundry Detergent, don’t use any more than 18.5ml of fragrance.
For machine washing, it falls into In IFRA Category 12 - NO. 1110 - Inspired By: Downy April Fresh By Bath & Body Works Soaps and Candles fragrance oil has no maximum safety dilution recommendation. But 3% is more than enough for this project.
You might as well make at least 3 liters of this at a time if not more. It will store happily for about 6 months. However, please store it in non-reactive containers like glass or stainless steel and not in plastic containers that can degrade.
You Will Need:
- Large measuring jug
- Bucket
- Stainless steel spoon
- 1-liter glass bottle or a glass container large enough to hold your detergent.
- Waterproof and oilproof label
- Protective gloves if you have sensitive skin or skin conditions like dermatitis on your hands.
Ingredients:
- 8 cups of Hot Water
- 1 cups of Baking Soda
- ½ cup of Hydrogen Peroxide 3%
- 1 cup of Borax
- 1 cup of Castile Soap
- 50 ml of NO. 1110 - Inspired By: Downy April Fresh By Bath & Body Works Soaps & Candles Fragrance Oil
Safety:
- Store away from children and pets.
- Do not ingest.
- Wash splashes off your skin with clean warm water.
Method:
- Measure out 1 cup of Baking Soda and 1 cup of Borax into your bucket, pour over 4 cups of boiling hot water, and stir well to mix.
- Dilute 1 cup of Dish Soap in 4 cups of water and add to the bucket too.
- Dilute ½ a cup of Hydrogen Peroxide 3% in 1 cup of hot water in your measuring jug.
- Pour that into your bucket.
- Stir thoroughly to combine, and make sure everything is dissolved fully. If not, stir a little longer. Only add more water as a last resort.
- Once everything is fully amalgamated, add your 50 ml of NO. 1110 - Inspired By: Downy April Fresh By Bath & Body Works Soaps & Candles Fragrance Oil and stir to mix it in. If you are always going to be machine washing, you can add another 40ml of NO.1110, but then you cannot use it for handwashing.
- Carefully decant into a large glass gallon jar or series of smaller glass jars (3 quarts)
- Label clearly, listing all ingredients for obvious safety reasons, and store away from pets and children.
How To Use:
- It is always worth doing a 24-48 hour patch test on all members of the family.
- It would be easy to fall into the trap of thinking “How strong can this be? It’s only homemade”! Well, the answer to that is VERY STRONG!
- Believe me when I say you will only need to use a tablespoon for normal loads of laundry and never use more than two tablespoons for heavily soiled clothes and laundry.
- There is such a thing as overdoing it and ending up just leaving residue in the fibers of your linens and we don’t want that, do we?….. So 1-2 tbsp… no more! I know it does not seem much in comparison to how much commercial detergent you need to use. But honestly, 1-2 tbsp is more than enough, so restrain yourselves lol.
- It is going to last you a long time, can you already see how much money this is going to save you? It should be stored happily for about 6 months.
- Pass some to family and friends for them to try it too!
Tumble Dryer Sheets And Wool Dryer Balls
These Tumble Dryer Sheets are an absolute doddle to make. Save money and the planet by making your own sumptuously fragranced ones.
Now, I have recently moved from using tumble dryer sheets to using wool dryer balls. They help move your washing around the drum and help reduce the drying time. You can simply add fragrance to the balls themselves.
There are two schools of thought on this. One that leaves the wool dryer balls steeping in a fragranced liquid mixture, like you would tumble dryer sheets, and the other that sprays the balls with the same mixture. I do the latter and spray them, simply because I don’t want them to be wet and introduce more moisture into the dryer.
I’ll show you how to do both.
Don’t let the idea of the odor of vinegar put you off, it completely disappears and does not leave your clothes smelling of vinegar.
In IFRA Category 12 - NO. 1110 - Inspired By: Downy April Fresh By Bath & Body Works Soaps and Candles fragrance oil has no maximum safety dilution recommendation. But 3% is more than enough for this project.
There is no option on the VINEVIDA calculator for Tumble Dryer Sheets so use the ‘Wool Dryer Balls’ option, it will work out the correct safety data in the right category for you with those settings.
You Will Need:
- Large measuring jug
- Stainless steel spoon
- Jiffy Cloths or similar reusable sheets, cotton is ideal.
- Large lidded glass bowl or jar, or a 250ml glass spray bottle.
- Oil proof label
Ingredients:
- 235 ml of Distilled White Vinegar
- 10 ml of Castile Soap or 5 ml of a surfactant like Polysorbate 20 or 80.
- 3 ml of NO. 1110 - Inspired By: Downy April Fresh By Bath & Body Works Soaps & Candles Fragrance Oil
- 2 ml of NO. 1405 -Inspired By: Lemongrass & Ginger By Nest Soaps & Candles Fragrance Oil
Safety:
- Store away from children and animals.
Method:
- Carefully measure all of the ingredients and mix well to create your fragrance fluid.
- Check the fragrance oil is not floating on the surface, add a little more surfactant or Castile soap if it is.
Tumble Dryer Sheets
- Fold your jiffy sheets or cotton squares into a glass jar pour over the liquid and make sure all of the sheets absorb some of the liquid mixture.
- Lid and label your glass jar clearly, using an oil-proof label. List all of your ingredients for safety reasons and date.
- Add the instruction to your label too - ‘Shake Well Before Use’.
- Use within 6 months.
- Once used, simply refold it and add it back into the jar.
- Replenish the fragrant fluid from time to time.
Wool Dryer Balls - Immersion Method
- Pour your fluid into a shallow-lidded glass dish and place your wool dryer balls into the liquid.
- Pop the lid on tightly and shake well to coat the balls.
- Leave in the fluid until you need it.
- Pop them in the tumble dryer to use them
- Once used, place back in the bowl and shake to coat again.
- Replenish the fluid from time to time.
Tash’s Point Of View: I believe leaving the balls steeping in the fluid is likely to degrade the wool over time. It is not meant to be permanently wet. You will have to replace them far more often and they might even develop mold if not used for longer periods.
You could just keep a jar and coat them in the liquid quickly before using or spray them like below.
Wool Dryers Balls - Spray Method
- Decant your fragrant fluid into a 250ml glass spray bottle using a funnel for ease.
- Simply spritz each wool dryer ball before using.
- I find a light misting is more than adequate, they don’t need to be wet and do not need to be soaking.
- Pop into the dryer and once used, store dry until the next use.
How to Use:
- It is always worth doing a 24 to 48-hour patch test, especially if you have sensitive skin.
- Pop two sheets or wool dryer balls into the dryer.
- Reuse, time and time again.
- Replenish the fluid as needed or swap things out and have a change.
- I would use new balls for new scents to avoid cross-contamination of scents, but if that does not bother you, crack on and use the same ones!
- Save LOTS of money and dryer balls can reduce your drying time considerably, saving time, energy, and money!
