VINEVIDA’S Favorite Ways To Use

VINEVIDA’S Favorite Ways To UseNO. 3300, Inspired By: Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani is a distinguished and sophisticated woody aquatic fragrance. Perfectly refreshing in the top notes of citrus Bergamot and those unmistakable marine notes of the roaring ocean.

It is all beautifully softened with herbs and florals in the heart notes Rosemary and Clary Sage bring that refreshing green, herbaceous scent. Lavender and Geranium add that softer, more feminine edge that balances the whole profile sensationally.

Finally, you are plunged into the sensuous, resinous and earthy ambience of Patchouli and Olibanum which leaves you enraptured.

It’s a truly wonderful woody aquatic scent for you this month. It evokes that wild masculine beach scene. Wind billowing, white caps on the waves, scents of sea herbs in the air, as the campfire crackles. Surf boards pushed into the sand, eyes scanning the horizon, waiting for the perfect ninth wave.

Toiletries and Skincare

Toiletries and SkincareNO. 3300, Inspired By: Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani Fragrance Oil is perfect for more masculine cold process soaps and shower gels. It can introduce a sense of the oceanic to your bathing routine. It will leave you feeling refreshed, sophisticated and just a little bit free and wild.

Scenting The Home

Scenting The Home

It has a lively profile with citrus, herbs and floral notes, mixed in with those marine and resinous aromas making it ideal for use all across the home. We think it is perfect for rooms where people are being entertained like dining rooms and sitting rooms. I like it for spaces in the home where you greet people, like the hallway or porch.

You could try blending with other fragrance oils and essential oils. We think it is perfect as a base for creating your own Signature Home Scent. You can find out more about Signature Home Scents, in our exciting blog article Layering Perfumes In The Home.

Wax and Scented Products For The Home

Wax and Scented Products For The HomeNO. 3300, Inspired By: Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani Soaps & Candles Fragrance Oil is an ideal  choice for designing and creating a variety of wax products aimed at men. Though I find with a scent like this, it often appeals to just as many women.

If you are making commercial products, aim your packaging to appeal to both men and women alike. Try not to pigeon hole it and let the fragrance work its own magic for you!

It is a perfect choice for creating distinguished candles, sophisticated wax melts, and high end reed diffusers and sachets. It is an incredibly popular fragrance oil here at VINEVIDA with men and women alike.

It is also suitable to use in all types of aromatherapy candle burners.

Blending

NO. 3300, Inspired By: Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani Soaps & Candles Fragrance Oil is a distinguished and refreshing fragrance oil. Give it a go and try blending it with some of VINEVIDA’s other Essential Oils and Fragrance Oils.

I like mixing it with more green and herbaceous notes like NO. 1112, Inspired By: Eucalyptus Spearmint By Bath & Body Works and NO. 56 - Ocean Rain.

It is also sublime with woody Essential Oils like Amyris and Pine (Dwarf Siberian).

Cold Air Diffusers

If you have a Cold Air Diffuser, use our version of NO. 3300, Inspired By: Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani DIFFUSER Fragrance Oil. It is specifically designed and developed for your Cold Air Diffusers.

We do NOT recommend that you use the VINEVIDA Soaps and Candles version in your Cold Air or Nebulizing Diffuser. The Soap and Candles version is not designed for this particular purpose. It is formulated with a thicker viscosity, to withstand processes like candle making. This more dense fluid could block the delicate nozzles on Cold Air Diffusers.

Creative Ways To Use And Blend

Creative Ways To Use And Blend

Let it take you on a crest of wave, plunging you into the freshness of Bergamot and green herbs, before softening with the florals of Lavender and Geranium. The last flourish envelops you in earthy Patchouli and resinous Olibanum.

Have a go at making these projects for yourself, for your friends and family and for your customers. Distinguished, sophisticated but also wildly evocative and refreshingly Oceanic.

First, let’s create a vibrant range of diffuser blends to welcome March into your home!

NO. 3300, Inspired By: Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani Diffuser Blends

NO. 3300, Inspired By: Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani Diffuser Blends

When we first look at this masculine fragrance oil, you will soon get excited because you will see where there is a lot of scope for building on the aroma. It would not take too much to tip it over to a more feminine scent profile, if that is what appeals to you.

I can’t quite contain my excitement, so let's just get on with this. First, let's remind ourselves of the fragrance notes and I will point out some of their ideal companions.

Fragrance
Notes
Original Scent Profile Ideal Companions
Top Bergamot, Ocean Sweet Orange, Lime, Lemon, Tangerine, Mandarin, Kaffir Lime, Grapefruit, Ozone, Basil, Rose, Rose Geranium, Peppermint, Spearmint.
Heart Geranium, Rosemary, Lavender, Clary Sage Jasmine, Neroli, Ylang Ylang, Honeysuckle, Gardenia, Palmarosa, Palo Santo
Base Patchouli, Olibanum Amber, Amyris, Cedarwood, Oud, Patchouli, Tobacco, Vanilla.

You want to keep the top notes refreshing with citrus and green. Keep it floral, or lightly woody within the heartspace and deepen down the base with those incredible woody or resinous notes. When you work within this framework it will help you to maintain the overall balance of the scent profile and give you more successful outcomes.

Diffuser Blends fall into IFRA Category 12 where NO. 3300, Inspired By: Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani fragrance oil has no safety restrictions.

NOTE: If you have a Cold Air Diffuser, do NOT use the Soaps & Candles variation please use the variation labeled DIFFUSER Fragrance Oil.

Method:

    1. Diffusers blends are very easy and super simple to make at home. Just use a small measuring jug to blend your chosen fragrance oil and essential oils together.
    2. If you use a funnel, it is easier to decant your mixture into a 10ml dropper bottle,
    3. I highly recommend using a good quality silicone spatula. Use it to scrape the oil out of the jug and funnel. It helps you to minimize any waste and get every last drop of precious oil.
    4. Remember to use on an oil-proof label and label the bottle clearly, listing all of the ingredients,
    5. For safety considerations, you MUST annotate this bottle as ‘UNDILUTED’ please.

How To Use:

    1. We highly recommend that you follow the manufacturer's instructions for your own individual diffuser.
    2. Dilute the blend, if you are instructed to do so.

      Bathroom And Kitchen Scrub

      Bathroom And Kitchen Scrub

NO. 3300, Inspired By: Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani Soaps & Candles Fragrance Oil is absolutely ideal for using to freshen your bathroom and kitchen.

It’s easy to get stubborn stains in your bathroom, water marks, limescale and soap residue build up. Tackle them all with this highly effective Bathroom Scrub.

For Bathroom Scrubs in IFRA Category 10A, NO. 3300, Inspired By: Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani fragrance oil has maximum safety dilution restrictions of 13.15%.

        1. Take 1 cup of Salt, ½ cup of Baking Soda, ½ cup of Borax, mix together and place in a jar.
        2. Mix together 2 tbsp Distilled Water and 2 tbsp White Distilled Vinegar with 20 ml of NO. 3300, Inspired By: Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani Soaps and Candles Fragrance Oil into a separate bottle.
        3. Label both containers listing all ingredients and store them together.

      How to Use:

You need to test this in an inconspicuous spot first to make sure it is not too abrasive. This is especially important if you are going to use it on plastic baths and appliances like your stovetop. If you have ceramic and induction hobs please consult your manufacturer's instructions.

        1. Measure out 2 tbsp of the dry mix into a small bowl.
        2. Dispense a few drops of the wet mix into the dry mix and stir well until a stiff paste forms.
        3. Use the stiff paste to work into watermarks and staining. It is great for getting rid of burnt on food on your stove tops too.
        4. If you have stubborn stains, leave the paste in situ for 5-10 mins, and then scrub well.
        5. Rinse well with clean, warm water and buff up with a clean and dry, soft cloth.

This week, we have the distinguished NO. 3300, Inspired By: Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani fragrance oil. So versatile and easy to build upon and blend with other fragrance oils and essential oils.

NO. 3300, Inspired By: Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani fragrance oil is perfect for refreshing and scenting your home. When you want something a little more sophisticated, make this your go to.

Try our Bathroom and Kitchen Scrub above or make our Toilets Bombs. Fizzing and getting to work to clean and deodorize your toilets for a sparkling finish. Your bathroom will smell incredible and be the envy of all of your guests.

Try it in our second recipe for this week, a preening oil. Perfect for the face, hair and beard, to smooth dry skin, tame flyaways and add a little healthy glow and shine. Perfect for everyone to enjoy.

      Toilet Bombs

      Toilet Bombs

This is another brand new recipe for you. If you have never had a go at making your own home cleaning products, then this could be a great place to begin.

This is a relatively simple recipe, but the trick is to not put too much liquid into the mix. Be very light handed here and err on the side of less is more.

In IFRA Category 12 -  NO. 3300, Inspired By: Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani Soaps and Candles fragrance oil has no maximum safety dilution recommendation, so you can use as much as you like, but remember you don’t want your mix too wet!

Note on Hydrogen Peroxide: It is the more natural equivalent to Sodium Hypochlorite. This means you can use it to sanitize and disinfect your toilet. We like it because it is eco friendly and totally safe for the environment. Most drug stores and pharmacies will stock it.

      You Will Need:

        • Mixing bowl
        • Weigh scales
        • Measuring jug and spoons
        • Stainless steel spoon
        • Silicone spatula
        • Molds about the size of a golf ball (shape unimportant)
        • Protective gloves

If you plan to gift or sell these you will also need:

Air tight sealing bags or vacuum sealing pouches.

Label, listing all ingredients clearly and with instructions for use.

      Ingredients:

      Optional -

        • Colorant
        • 1 ml of bactericidal essential oils like Tea Tree, Lemon, Lavender

      Safety:

        • Wear gloves during production.
        • Store in an airtight container out of the reach of children and pets.
        • Label CLEARLY, to avoid any mistakes or confusion with bath bombs!

      Method:

        1. Wear protective gloves.
        2. Measure out all of your ingredients first.
        3. In a mixing bowl combine the Baking Soda & Citric Acid.
        4. Mix together the White Vinegar and Hydrogen Peroxide in a small measuring jug, add the fragrance oil and any essential oils to this liquid mix and combine well.
        5. Mix it well and you should get a relatively clumpy/sandy mixture.
        6. Transfer your mixture into your molds, you could use ice cube trays, if this is all you have available.
        7. Allow to set and dry out overnight in a dry place with an ambient temperature.
        8. Keep out of reach of children and inquisitive pets.
        9. Once set, demold and pop into an airtight container.
        10. Label the container, listing all ingredients for safety reasons. Make sure it clearly defines them for toilet use, so they don’t get mistaken as bath bombs!

      How To Use:

You can use these Toilet Bombs in a variety of ways to clean your loo.

      Quick Clean
        1. Drop two of the Toilet Bombs down the toilet bowl and let them fizz.
        2.  In the meantime you can get on with cleaning the rest of the bathroom.
        3. Using a toilet brush, give the toilet a good clean and flush.
        4. I live in an area with very hard water and often I have to repeat this step to remove limescale from the toilet bowl. I often will leave it overnight for a thorough soak.
      Clean and Sparkling Bowl
        1. Simply crumble 1 or 2 bombs on the surface of the toilet bowl and let sit for a while.
        2. After a few minutes give it a quick brush with a barely damp brush and work into the whole surface of the bowl. Again let it sit a while.
        3. Then brush vigorously and finally, flush.
        4. Marvel at your sparkling clean and fragrant toilet bowl.
      Rapid Refresh
        1. For a super quick refresh of your toilet bowl simply plop 2 bombs in the toilet.
        2. Leave it to sit until you next use the toilet.
        3. This is where the fragrance and essential oils will impart their fragrance and make it feel fresh and clean, while the active properties of the essential oils and the other ingredients are descaling the bottom of your toilet bowl.

          6. Lid your bottle tightly.
          7. Clearly label your bottle using an oil proof label. List all ingredients for safety reasons.

          3. Less is more here when using it on the hair. Think healthy shine rather than a 1940’s Brylcreem™ look!

        Safety Aspects

When you are designing and formulating your own projects, remember you must stay within the recommended IFRA guidelines. This is especially important if you are creating products to gift or sell to customers.

As soon as your lovely products leave your hands, they are out of your control.  Remember though, you are still ultimately responsible for the original recipe and formulation. You must always bear this in mind.

This is just one of the reasons why it is important to only trust recipes written by fully trained industry professionals. Many hobbyists simply don’t have the safety training needed to formulate safe and trusted recipes. This is especially important when making cosmetics, skincare and toiletries, that are to be used topically on the skin.

However, if you are in doubt, you can always check the safety data for yourself, when you know how. At VINEVIDA, we want to show our valued customers how to use our products safely.

We give you all the safety information you need on our website (It is also a legal requirement that we supply this with our products). Each of the individual web pages have links to their safety documents, in order to be able to work out the safety information for yourself.

When you know where and how, you can source this information and work it out for yourself quite easily. Always be mindful that it is your responsibility to consult that safety information and put it into practice! Ignorance is no defense.

How To Find Our Safety Documents

Our VINEVIDA safety documents are very simple to locate.

          1. Go to the web page of your chosen Fragrance Oil or Essential Oil.
          2. Search under the main product image and until you see a navigation bar.
          3. Locate the link entitled DOCUMENTS and click on it and open it up. (It may open up as many as several different files).
          4. Locate the file called: IFRA STATEMENT. Select it, and it will open up the file in a new browser tab.
          5. This file provides you with all the IFRA safety data that you need. These are the ‘maximum recommended safety dilution rates’ that you need to know when designing, formulating and producing your own creations.
          6. Remember, that it will state the maximum amount of fragrance oil you may safely use in your preparation. Do not confuse this as a recipe recommendation, it is NOT that!.

        VINEVIDA Calculator

Even I, with all my experience, can get confused and a bit stuck sometimes and need further clarification. Luckily, there are a couple of things I can do and you can do just the same. Come with me and I will show you how!

Our VINEVIDA calculator tool, which you can find on our main navigation bar under TOOLS, is a godsend. It is thoughtfully designed and very easy to follow and use.

All you need to do is to enter the relevant details that it asks you for. You simply work through each section systematically. When you have entered all of the details, it then works it all out for you. It shows you the safety recommendations for your chosen Fragrance or Essential Oil. It goes that little bit further and even gives you different strength recommendations to help inform your design process.

I find that when I use the VINEVIDA calculator, it gives me the assurance and confidence that I need. I am 100% sure that I have the correct data to be working within the recommended safety guidelines. It can give you that confidence too and dispel any confusion or worry.

        IFRA Guidance

Don’t worry, we know that it can be confusing about what IFRA category something fits into. After all, it is not immediately obvious which category Toilet Bombs should be in. Toilet Bombs fall into IFRA Category 12, basically because they have no contact with the skin and can be treated like rim blocks.

I always err on the side of caution, when I am stuck and I usually consult the Guidance For The Use Of IFRA Standards, it hasn't failed me yet and has answered all of my questions.

However, if you feel the information seems scant or vague, do a bit more research (use trusted/professional sites) and certainly engage your common sense.

        The Final Word

It has been rather glorious working with the invigorating masculinity of NO. 3300, Inspired By: Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani this month.

I have very much enjoyed the sophistication and distinguished personality of this woody aquatic fragrance oil. Greeted by those refreshing top notes of citrus Bergamot and unmistakable marine notes where the Ocean rises up to meet you.

Rounded and softened with fresh, green herbs and delicate florals in the heart notes. The medicinal notes of Rosemary and Clary Sage dance with the floral delicacy of Lavender and Geranium. Giving it a softer, feminine edge to masterfully balance the whole profile before you are plunged into the sensuousness of Patchouli and alluring resinous Olibanum.

It’s an extremely popular fragrance oil here at VINEVIDA and we love it too!
