green perfume recipes

With St Patrick's Day almost upon us, I have been inspired to make green perfume recipes! Those beautiful notes of freshly mown grass and walks through the forest are the quintessential fragrances of spring. Refreshing, invigorating, and uplifting, green perfumes can transform your environment from humdrum to vital, inspiring, and fresh. In this article, I’ll introduce you to the Vinevida dupes of famous perfume recipes like “Verveine 32” by Labo, and “Dahlia & Vines” by Nest and offer ideas of how to use them in your home and body care products. I’ll offer some green perfume recipes for handmade eau de cologne as well as coordinated body lotions and butter. Then we’ll develop a whole range of green perfume recipes for scented home products and diffuser blends.  If you are looking for the best green perfume recipes, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s dive in.

What Are Green Perfume Recipes?

What Are Green Perfume Recipes?Green perfumes are quite simply perfumes that smell green…which is a very weird phenomenon when you think about it! But rather than being a description of a color, most of it alludes to plant matter that has that hue, and usually, they tend to be made of herbs and leaves.

Green aromas are sometimes also captured synthetically. Grass releases compounds called green leaf volatiles (GLVs) when it is cut. One of these,  (Z)-3-hexenal, is synthetically replicated to build a freshly cut grass aroma into perfume.

Perfumery combines natural and synthetically derived ingredients to create green perfume recipes.

Let’s begin by thinking about natural green scents captured in essential oils.

Green herbal scents always work well with floral and woody fragrances like Rose and Sandalwood. Combine them to create alluring, relaxing, and sensual aromas.

Use green minty aromas to create clean, refreshing, and vivifying fragrances. These combine really well with green fruits like Cucumber and Melon. Use them

Many green shrubs have strong medicinal or menthol-like fragrances. These invigorate and enliven green perfume recipes.

I LOVE the strong coniferous scents of Scots Pine and Dwarf Pine and find them revitalizing and restoring. They work well with smooth, rich woods like Amyris and deep spices like Cinnamon and Clove. Most people consign these to holiday fragrances, but I love their forest vibes all year round. Oakmoss and Pine are a match made in heaven so try pairing it with NO. 75 - Egyptian Oakmoss.
