NO. 1105 Soaps & Candles Fragrance Oil Showcase

Step into the lushness of a desert oasis with the fragrance NO. 1105. Quench your dusty desert thirst with this sweet, crisp fragrance evoking a lush green oasis, abloom heady Cactus Blossoms.

When you first inhale it bright green notes greet you. These are laced with zesty citrus notes and then a subtle Orange whisper. The delicate sweet notes of Cactus Petals and Coconut wrap around these. Finally, the base notes of rich woods, alluring  Musk, and comforting Vanilla coax you into a blissful oasis and encourage you to stay a while.

No. 1105 is an uplifting fragrance oil. It refreshes you, encouraging you to linger to drink in its beauty. It has us captivated here at VINEVIDA, will it captivate you too?

Fragrance Notes

    • Top: Green, Citrus, Cactus Petal
    • Mid: Coconut, Floral
    • Bottom: Musk, Woody, Vanilla

VINEVIDA stocks two versions of this fragrance oil.

NO. 1105 - Soaps and Candles Fragrance Oil has been specifically designed to withstand the rigorous processes of making soaps and candles, but also the processes for making toiletries, and skin care.

There are so many different ways you can use it. It’s incredibly versatile.

We also stock a DIFFUSER variation. It has been specifically designed for Nebulizing and Cold Air Diffusers. You must only use it for this purpose. Buy this version instead NO. 1105 - For Cold Air Diffusers.

Remember: You must not use VINEVIDA Soaps and candle fragrance oils in Cold Air Diffusers. It is thicker in viscosity and can clog the delicate nozzles.

A Quick Note on VINEVIDA Fragrance Oils

We take your skincare seriously. VINEVIDA fragrance oils are free of Parabens, Phthalates, SLS, and SLES. And because we care about them too, VINEVIDA fragrance oils are never tested on animals either.

Ways To Use NO. 1105 Fragrance Oil

      Aromatherapy wellness products

Needless to say, we think VINEVIDA Soaps and Candles Fragrance Oils are amazing, but don’t just take our word for it, try for yourself some of our tried and tested recipes.

To make life simple we will explore them in three separate categories: Topical Products, Scenting The Home, and Diffusers and Candle Burners.

      Topical Products

Create quality skin care products in the comfort of your own home with VINEVIDA Soaps and candle fragrance oils. As stated, we stock two variants of 1105 Fragrance Oil. Choose the Soaps and Candles Fragrance Oil variations to make any products that will be used topically. All our fragrance oils work beautifully with natural ingredients and are easily blended into a variety of bases. Try them with cosmetic butter, candle waxes, and carrier oils.

Another reason Vinevida Soap and Candles Fragrance Oils excel in making skin care is that they are designed to retain integrity when base ingredients need to be heated or melted. For this reason, they are ideal choices for Beauty Balms, Skin Salves, and Body Butters.

      Skincare

We love it in Cleansers, Toners and Face Spritzes. It's wonderful for creating fresh, light, and uplifting products. While it is an extremely versatile fragrance, the green, citrus top notes perhaps make it more suited to the skincare products you might use in the morning. NO. 1105’s sweetly refreshing scent is ideal for creating skincare gift sets aimed at teenage girls. Alternatively, you could make it more grown up by adding a little Rose or Jasmine.

      Soap

VINEVIDA fragrance oils excel in soap-making processes, giving you expected and consistent results from both Cold Process Soap or Melt and Pour Soap.

NO. 1105 creates a zesty and refreshing soap, perfect for use in the morning to get things going!

It is quite sweet, but you can tip it towards the masculine, deepening it down with spices and more wood. Cardamom would complement the Orange and citrus notes and Patchouli would add an earthy note.

Tip it towards more flirty femininity by introducing more stunning florals, like Rose Geranium and maybe just a dash of Lilac, Honeysuckle, or Jasmine.

        Toiletries

Blend NO. 1105 into Body Butters and Bath Oils where the high oil contents help the scent to last longer on the skin.

Consider creating Hand Creams aimed at Gardeners in a rich Shea Butter base. However, I love that sweet, crisp, and youthful essence to it and it suits a teenage girl as much as the more mature lady.

        Cosmetics

Did you realize you can use fragrance oils to create your own makeup? The cosmetics world is shrouded in chemical secrecy but honestly, it’s not that difficult to make and design your own cosmetics.

VINEVIDA fragrance oils are ideal for scenting your Mineral Foundation, Eye Shadows, and Blush Tints.

However please note that fragrance oils are NOT suitable for making lip products. Essential oils would be a better choice for these.

        Layer Your Perfumes

If you have not tried layering scents yet, what are you waiting for? There is so much fun to be had! You can even create your very own Signature Scent.

Pop over to Layering Perfumes With Essential Oils - The Body Edition and I’ll show you how to layer your face and body products. Naturally, you can use the same framework with fragrance oils too.

        Scenting The Home

        Aroma reed diffuser

There are so many different ways to bring glorious scents to your home and VINEVIDA fragrance oils have got you covered from every angle. The sheer versatility of these products allows you to use them in hundreds of different ways.

        Create a Signature Home Scent

Make matching products like Room Sprays, Reed Diffusers, Wax Melts, and Candles simply to unify the fragrance of your home.

Take the original refreshing, sweetly invigorating, and uplifting fragrance of No. 1105, with its green, citrus top notes, floral and coconut tropical heart notes, and woody, musky base notes then add your own twist. There is plenty of room in the scent profile to add your own unique flourish.

It is suitable for any room in the house and can be used all around the home. However, I would steer away from using it in bedrooms at night. It’s a bit too lively for that, you want something more restful to sleep with.

Don’t be afraid to blend it with other essential oils and fragrance oils. Kick expensive designer brands to the curb. Experiment and create a unique and glorious Signature Home Scent of your own.

Our article Layering Perfumes In The Home gives you a great place to start.

Candles and Wax Products For The Home

NO. 1105 is a wonderful choice for creating bright and lively products to appeal to a wide range of ages and demographics.

Create sweet, crisp and uplifting Candles, invigorating Wax Melts, sublime Reed Diffusers, and Wax Sachets.

Bring out femininity with heart note florals like Rose and Rose Geranium. To maintain that light, breezy balance though, I would avoid oils like ylang-ylang or jasmine that might be too heady.

To give yourself more scope add strong spices like Cardamom or earthy Patchouli to make it more masculine.

          Scented Products For The Home

You could make your Signature Home Scents with NO. 1105 work even harder, by adding it to Soft Furnishing, Linen, Room, and Iron Sprays.

Refresh your rooms with Reed Diffusers, Scented Candles, Wax Melts, and your room diffusers to get the best effects.

            Diffusers and Candle Burners

            Aroma lamp on table

            Aromatherapy Candle Burners

You can use VINEVIDA  NO. 1105 - Inspired By: Cactus Blossom By Bath & Body Works Soaps and Candles fragrance oil in all types of aromatherapy candle burners.

            Diffusers

Do NOT use VINEVIDA Soaps and candle fragrance Oil in Cold Air or Nebulizing Diffusers. It is too viscous and thick and can block their delicate nozzles.

VINEVIDA has designed NO. 1105 DIFFUSER Fragrance Oil for your Nebulizing or Cold Air Diffusers. Please use this instead.

If you need more information and guidance on which fragrance oils we recommend, and how to use different types of diffusers, check out How To Use VINEVIDA Oils.

However, it is always our recommendation to check your own machine’s manufacturer's instructions for their specific guidance first, please.

            Blending Recommendations

NO. 1105 is a wonderfully uplifting, invigorating, and refreshing fragrance oil, with its sweet, crisp, clean scent.

There is still room to add to this and give it your own dash of personalization. VINEVIDA Fragrance Oils and Essential Oils are perfect blending companions and we urge you heartily to experiment and try new blends.

I like to ramp up the heart notes with light and breezy florals NO. 33 - Fresh Cut Roses and I like a dash of Mango fruitiness too with NO. 1102. Try deepening it down with the smooth Amber notes of NO. 1200.

It is also livened up with crisp zesty citrus notes and fresh green essential oils like Pink Grapefruit, and Ravensara and adds more depth with a rich wood like Amyris or Cedarwood.

Let’s ease you in gently and create a stunning range of sublime diffuser blends for your home.

This is a delightful fragrance on its own, but there is still plenty of room to experiment with. It will take being tipped to one gender or another. Simply work carefully and systematically through all of the notes, adding your own special touch.

Let’s just have a quick refresh on the fragrance notes and I’ll share my favorite recommendations. Please try them out at home for yourselves.

              Fragrance
              Notes
              Original Scent Profile Ideal Companions
Top Green, Citrus, Orange Mango, Lemon, Lime, Grapefruit, Eucalyptus, Kaffir Lime, Yuzu
Heart Cactus Blossom, Coconut Cardamom, Nutmeg, CorianderRavensara, Sweet BasilRose, Honeysuckle, Rose Geranium, Helichrysum, Chamomile
Base Musk, Amyris, Woods Amyris, Cedarwood, Patchouli, Vanilla

              Follow This Framework

                1. You want to keep the top notes fruity, green, and citrus.
                2. Keep it floral in the heart space with Rose and Rose Geranium for a feminine finish. For a more masculine profile use big spices like Cardamom or Nutmeg to complement the citrus notes.
                3. Ravnesara and Sweet Basil add a dash of greenery in the heart notes too, adding to the crisp freshness of the overall profile.
                4. Try deepening down the base with earthy Patchouli and introduce rich, dark woods with Cedarwood.
                5. Adding a tiny dash of Vanilla can do things to our limbic system and foster feelings of comfort, safety, and security. It’s great for making people feel safer in their space. This scent profile will take the headiness and power of Vanilla and it will compliment the Coconut notes.
                6. Just work one drop at a time, mix and test, and you can’t go wrong!
                7. Remember to have fun! This is meant to be FUN!
                8. Relax, breathe, and engage :)

Using this framework helps to maintain the original balance of the scent profile. When you maintain that balance, it improves your chances of success. We offer you this framework because we WANT you to be successful and to get these amazing outcomes.

              IFRA Safety

Diffuser Blends fall into IFRA Category 12  NO. 1105 fragrance oil has no safety restrictions in this category. Within reason, you can use as much as you like. However, more does not necessarily mean better, you still need to achieve that happy balance.

PLEASE NOTE: Use the variation labeled DIFFUSER Fragrance Oil if you are using a Cold Air Diffuser. Do NOT use the Soaps & Candles variation, it is not suitable for your machine, it is too thick.

              Method:

                1. Diffuser Blends are super simple and easy to make at home. Simply measure out your chosen fragrance oils and essential oils into a small measuring jug.
                2. Blend them together by mixing them with a spoon.
                3. Use a funnel, it helps to stop you from making a mess, trust me on this one! Decant into a 10ml dropper bottle.
                4. Use a good quality silicone spatula to scrape every last precious morsel of oil out of the jug and funnel. I do this as it helps to minimize any waste and get my money’s worth. It’s good for the soul, your pocket, and the Earth!
                5. Now this is where having a clean, oil-free bottle will help your label stick better. Apply an oil-proof label, listing all of the ingredients.
                6. You MUST label your bottle as ‘UNDILUTED’ for obvious safety reasons. Please do it!

              How To Use:

                1. Please be sure to consult your manufacturer's instructions for your own individual diffuser.
                2. Dilute your blend to suit your individual diffuser, if you are instructed to do so.

DIY Recipes Using NO. 1105 - Inspired By: Cactus Blossom By Bath & Body Works Soaps & Candles Fragrance Oil

Here at VINEVIDA, we are always excited about the possibilities of soap and candle fragrance oils.  We love them because they are incredibly versatile and you will be astounded at the sheer number of projects you can create with them.  If you don’t believe me, pop over to Unlock The Power Of Aromatherapy: 100 Ways To Use Essential Oils (& Fragrance Oils) and take a peek!

This week, we have the beautifully refreshing, and sweetly crisp NO. 1105 and we are going to capitalize on those luscious crisp and refreshing aspects.

First, we are going to make a refreshing and invigorating Wax Melt to bring that wonderful, sweetly crisp ambiance to your home.

For our second project, we are going to create a simple but stunning Body Veil Lotion. Intentionally, light, fluid, and super hydrating for the skin. Veil yourself in the sweetly crisp and refreshing scent of NO. 1105.

                Wax Melts

                Fragrance melts made rapeseed wax

It never fails to surprise me how many people have never tried wax melts. Here in the UK, the market is flooded with them and you can barely go anywhere without seeing some intrepid entrepreneur jumping on the Wax Melt bandwagon… no wonder, they are so popular.

If you have never used them before, you simply use a candle or electric bowl oil burner. You place the wax melt into the well and allow the wax to melt. As it melts, the aroma is released. They are generally very long-lasting products and I often re-use mine anywhere between 3 and 10 times depending on the quality.

Wax Melts are super quick, simple, and easy to make. You need very little specialist equipment which will make this an appealing project for beginners.

NO. 1105 in IFRA category 12 has no maximum safety restrictions. Therefore, you can use as much as you would like, but within reason guys! More does not mean better, strike a happy balance.

As a rough guide: To 1lb of wax we would recommend using between 1-2 fl ozs of fragrance oil, for strongly fragranced wax melts. You may find you need less.

                You Will Need:

                  • Double Boiler (or a scrupulously clean tin can set in a saucepan of water)
                  • Stainless steel spoon
                  • Wax Melt Molds or Wax Melt Plastic Outers (for commercial sale)
                  • Label

                Ingredients:

                Optional Ingredients:
                  • Wax-based colorants (follow the manufacturer's instructions)
                  • Dried flowers or small crystal nuggets for decoration.
                  • Glitter

                Safety:

                  • Never leave burning candles and/or wax melts unattended.
                  • Always make sure they are stood firmly and evenly on a fireproof candle plate.

                Method:

                  1. Place your chosen wax in a double boiler set over low to medium heat. Don’t use the same double boiler that you would use for food though.
                  2. Most people start with an old tin can set in a saucepan of water. Please make sure that it is scrupulously clean. Heat a tin can on a lower heat, because your can is in direct contact with the hot water, and your wax will get much hotter, much quicker. You don’t want it to get too hot!
                  3. Once the wax is molten, take it off the heat and allow it to sit for a couple of minutes.
                  4. Add your NO. 1105 Soaps and Candles fragrance oil and stir well into the molten wax.
                  5. If you wish to add colorant, use one specifically formulated for waxes and follow your manufacturer's guidelines.
                  6. Pour the molten, fragranced, and colored wax into your chosen molds and allow them to set.
                  7. There are commercial plastic outers on the market, which act as both mold and packet which are great for small producers. Simply pour in the molten wax, let it set, then close it up and slap a label on the front. Job done.
                  8. Yes, it is that easy!
                  9. As it’s me, I like to add the obligatory sprinkle of glitter on top.
                  10. Occasionally, I will decorate them with dried flowers that appeal to the masses.
                  11.  You can also add tiny nuggets of crystals. These tend to appeal to a more spiritual market.
                  12. However you finish your wax melts, make sure to label them clearly, listing all ingredients for safety reasons.
                Don’t Skip The Labeling

If you are not using the commercial packets and are making individual molds, please do NOT skip the labeling! I find a slip of paper with the ingredients popped into the storage jar is sufficient.

For safety reasons, always think like this … ‘If a neighbor’s nosy and curious kid thinks they look like cake and eats one, what are you taking to the emergency room to show the medical staff the ingredients in it?

                How To Use:

                  1. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place to help preserve the scent for longer.
                  2. Use in a dedicated wax melt burner or an aromatherapy candle burner with a large enough well. Remember that wax is melting and turning into a fluid, you don’t want it to overflow!
                  3. You can reuse wax melts several times, the exact number of times depends on the quality of the wax, the fragrance used, and how they are stored.

                Sustainability Tips:

                  1. When you have finished with your wax melts, reuse it by tipping the old molten wax into a jar or a mold with a wick already fixed into the bottom. As it fills over time you’ll get an extra candle into the bargain!
                  2. You could also try re-melting all the wax and adding the SAME fragrance oil to refresh it. You can only do this a few times though as the wax will degrade over time and use.
                  3. Turn them into Wax Sachets by refreshing the fragrance oil and remolding them.
                  4. Don’t chuck the wax, it’s an absolute waste you can avoid. Re-use it!
                  5. When you work like this, imagine how much money you are saving, but also how many natural resources you are saving. It’s good for your soul, your pocket, and the planet!

                Body Veil Lotion

                Body Veil Lotion

I wanted to create something beautifully light because it suits the fresh, crisp finish of the fragrance oil. I could have done a Body Spritz or a Body Lotion, but this is somewhere in between.

Body Veil Lotion has a very high water-based content so it will be very thin and fluid on your skin. The benefits of this are:

                  • It absorbs super quickly, allowing you to dress right away, rather than flap around the bathroom like a Seagull.
                  • Packs hydration into your skin, making your skin look plump, smoother, less lined, and healthier. It will look and feel more vibrant and alive.
                  • It helps to lock in moisture and the inclusion of Glycerin - a humectant - attracts even more moisture into the skin.

                Add A Preservative

Because of this high water content, it is best to make this in smaller quantities, that you will use up quickly. The higher water content can cause the product to go off more readily, which is why I highly recommend using a preservative of your choice. There are natural and organic options you can choose from too.

                IFRA Safety and Guidelines

In IFRA Category 5ANO. 1105 Soaps and Candles fragrance oil has a maximum safety dilution recommendation of just 1.0%. This means you cannot use more than 1ml of NO. 1105 in 100ml of Body Veil Lotion.

In IFRA Category 5ANO. 1018 Soaps and Candles fragrance oil has a maximum safety dilution recommendation of 4.33%. This means you cannot use more than 4.3 ml of NO. 1018 in 100ml of Body Veil Lotion.

There is no option on the VINEVIDA calculator for Body Veil Lotion so use the ‘Body Lotion’ option, it will work out the correct safety data in the right category for you with those settings.

                You Will Need:

                  • Measuring Jugs
                  • Stainless steel spoon
                  • Funnel
                  • 100ml bottle and lid
                  • Label

                Ingredients:

                Safety:

                  • Always carry out a 24-48 hour patch test.

                Method:

                  1. Note when and how much of your preservative to add. Follow the individual manufacturer's guidance as they can vary.
                  2. Measure out and mix together the Glycerin, Witch Hazel, and NO. 1105 & No.1018 fragrance oils in a measuring jug.
                  3. Measure out the Aqueous Cream or Organic Cream Base and mix it into the jug with the mixed fluids.
                  4. Stir well until they are all combined.
                  5. Slowly, add your water content. Personally, I would go with Rosewater or Hydrosol as the feel of it on the skin can add to the freshness of the product. Floral hydrosols are particularly appealing.
                  6. Stir after each addition, until it is well incorporated and you have a thin fluid consistency.
                  7. Remember, it is MEANT to be very thin. If you want it thicker, add more Aqueous Cream, if you want it even thinner add more Water or Hydrosol.
                  8. Decant into your bottle using a funnel to keep your bottle clean and help your label adhere more readily.
                  9. Label your container, listing all ingredients for safety reasons.

                How to Use:

                  1. Do a 24 to 48-hour patch test, before using it for the first time.
                  2. Pour some into your hand and work liberally into the skin in upward movements.
                  3. It should absorb very quickly and you can dress right away.
                  4. However, it’s really beautiful when used at night after a bath or shower. Ladle it on really generously wrap yourself in a warm towel and allow it all to absorb for 5-10 minutes. It can be a boon for very dry skin.
                  5. This product can be used lightly every day, but only use it generously about 2-3 times a week.
                  6. If you don’t use a preservative, keep it in the fridge and replace it after a month. (If you haven’t used it all)!
