Ways To Use NO. 1004 Fragrance Oil

Here at VINEVIDA, we stock two different versions of this fragrance oil. 

Our Diffuser Fragrance Oils are purposefully designed for use in Nebulizing and Cold Air Diffusers and should only be used for this purpose. Purchase this version NO. 1004- For Cold Air Diffusers.

Our Soaps and Candles Fragrance Oil is specifically formulated and designed to withstand the heat and rigorous processes of making soaps and candles. They are perfectly suited for making toiletries, and skin care and for the process they demand.

At VINEVIDA, we take skincare seriously. None of our fragrance oils contain Parabens, Phthalates, SLS, and SLES.  Since we care about animals too, VINEVIDA fragrance oils are never tested on them either.

Topical Products

Soap

VINEVIDA fragrance oils are designed to withstand the heat and rigors of the soap-making processes. Expect dependable results from both Melt and Pour Soap. and Cold Process Soap.

No. 1004 has a rather sweet edge, because of all the fruit, however you could make it more masculine quite easily. Deepen the fragrance with dominant spices and deep, rich woods. Cinnamon and Cedarwood cotes could be good choices.

Toiletries 

It is such a beautiful vibrant scent that you want it to linger on your skin for as long as possible. Blend NO. 1004 into products where the high oil contents help the scent to last longer on the skin. Try it in Bath Oils and Body Butters.

Diffusers

Please do NOT use VINEVIDA Soaps and Candles Fragrance Oil in your Nebulizing or Cold Air Diffusers.  The fluid is too thick and viscous, which can block their delicate nozzles.

For your Nebulizing or Cold Air Diffusers VINEVIDA has designed NO. 1004 DIFFUSER Fragrance Oil. Use this instead, please.

Blending Recommendations

NO. 1004 is a wonderfully uplifting and refreshing fragrance oil, with its sweet, fruit, floral, and deep musky scent.

I like to ramp up the heart notes with heady florals  NO. 42 - Honeysuckle. Try deepening it down with the smooth, rich notes of NO. 21 - Cedarwood & Amber.

It is also livened up with crisp zesty citrus notes and fresh green essential oils like Pink Grapefruit, and Lemongrass and add more depth with a rich wood Cedarwood or a dash of Vanilla Oleoresin.

NO. 1004 Diffuser Blends

Shall we ease you in ever so gently and create an exciting range of vibrant diffuser blends for your home?

This is a beautiful and lively fragrance on its own, but there is still plenty of room in the scent profile to play with. You can easily tip it to one gender or another. Work through all of the scent notes, adding your own special, unique touch.

We’ll just quickly refresh ourselves on the fragrance notes and I’ll share some of my favorite recommendations. Please have the confidence to try them out at home and have fun experimenting.

Follow This Framework

1. You want to keep the top notes sweet, fruity, and citrus with a sharp twist.
2. Keep it mysterious in the heart space with heady and exotic floral for a feminine finish. For a more masculine profile use big spices like Cinnamon or Clove to complement the citrus notes.
3. The aniseed notes of Tarragon could work well here in the heart space, alongside resins like Frankincense and Myrrh, don’t be too heavy-handed with these though. 
4. Try deepening down the base with balsams like Peru or Copaiba and introduce rich, dark woods with Cedarwood. 
5. When you add a dash of Vanilla, it affects our limbic system and fosters feelings of safety, comfort, and security. It’s wonderful to help you feel safer in your space. 
6. If you work one drop at a time, then mix and test, and you can’t really go wrong! 

Using this framework will help you to maintain the overall balance of the original scent profile. If you can maintain that balance, it improves your chances of success. We WANT you to be successful and to get these amazing outcomes, so we give you this easy framework to work from. 

IFRA Safety

Our Diffuser Blends fall into IFRA Category 12  NO. 1004 Fragrance oil has no safety restrictions in this category. This means that within reason, you can use as much as you want. But let's be sensible and responsible here and understand that more does not necessarily mean better. You will still need to find a happy balance.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are using a Cold Air Diffuser please use the variation labeled DIFFUSER Fragrance Oil. Please do NOT use the Soaps & Candles variation, it is too thick and not suitable for your machine.

Method:

1. Diffuser Blends are easy to make at home and super simple to put together.
2. Measure out the given fragrance oils and essential oils from the recipe, into a small measuring jug.
3. Mix them with a spoon and blend them all together. 
4. Please use a funnel to decant the oils into a 10ml dropper bottle. It stops the bottle from getting oily and clean bottles help your label to adhere better. 
5. A quality silicone spatula can be used to help you scrape out every last precious morsel of oil from the jug and funnel. It helps to minimize any waste and get your money’s worth. It’s great for your soul, your pocket, and the Earth to work more sustainably. 
6. Apply an oil-proof label, listing all of the ingredients for safety.  Having a clean, oil-free bottle will help your label stick better, honest!
7. For obvious safety reasons, you MUST label your bottle as ‘UNDILUTED’. Please don’t neglect this.  

How To Use:

1. Consult your manufacturer's instructions for your own individual diffusers, please.
2.  if you are instructed to do so, dilute your blend to suit your individual diffusers.

Las Vegas Party

Colorful, vibrant, and alive. This is a party to remember! Chock full of champagne, exotic blooms, rare and precious scent notes, and rich woods and spices. It’s decadent and wildly abundant.

Let’s get this party started! This blend is perfect for enlivening an atmosphere and raising energy. Ideal for parties and gatherings or dancing around the kitchen on a Sunday morning! 

Ingredients:

• 5 ml of NO. 1004 Fragrance Oil
• 2 ml of NO. 54 - Nag Champa
• 40 drops of Sweet Orange Essential Oil (Citrus sinensis L)
• 20 drops of Ginger (Fresh) Essential Oil (Zingiber officinale)

Safety:

• Not designed for use on the skin.

Burning Man Vibes Baby

In the middle of the desert, a miracle of ingenuity and creativity takes place and the people bring the moment alive. A celebration of the weird, the wonderful, the colorful, and the eccentric. Feel the vibe with this super funky blend. 

Ingredients:

• 6 ml of NO. 1004 Fragrance Oil
• 3 ml of NO. 17 - Cannabis Flower
• 10 drops of Patchouli Essential Oil (Pogostemon cablin)
• 10 drops of Vetiver Essential Oil (Vetiveria zizanoides)

Safety:

• Not designed for use on the skin.

Showgirl 

Who doesn’t love a showgirl? Magnificent feathers, sparkling crystals, perfectly done hair and makeup, and a dazzling smile! Make yourself feel like the center of the show with this super feminine blend.

Trip the light fantastic, even if it is in your sitting room on a rainy Sunday afternoon!  

Ingredients:

• 5 ml of NO. 1004 Fragrance Oil
• 4 ml of NO. 1403 Fragrance Oil
• 10 drops of Ylang Ylang Essential Oil (Cananga odorata)
• 10 drops of Vanilla Oleoresin (Vanilla planifolia)

Safety:

• Not designed or formulated for topical use on the skin.

DIY Recipes Using NO. 1004- Inspired By: Cactus Blossom By Bath & Body Works Soaps & Candles Fragrance Oil

We never fail to get excited about the possibilities of VINEVIDA’s Soaps and Candles fragrance oils, we love their versatility. You will be amazed at the variety of projects you can create with them. Unlock The Power Of Aromatherapy: 100 Ways To Use Essential Oils (& Fragrance Oils) gives you a great starting place. 

This week, we have the sweet fruity, and floral NO. 1004 and we are going to capitalize on those luscious mouthwatering and enlivening aspects of this oil.

First, we are going to make a refreshing and enlivening Foot Scrub with that deliciously vibrant edge to it. You’ll be able to dance all night!

For our second project, we are going to make a companion to your Foot Scrub, a Foot Balm. Deeply nourishing and wonderfully hydrating you will feel like you are walking on a cloud.

It’s all about looking after your feet this month! 

Foot Scrub 

NO. 1004 in IFRA category 9 has maximum safety restrictions of 6.9%. This means in 100ml of Foot Scrub, you cannot use any more than 6.9 ml.

There is no option on the VINEVIDA calculator for Foot Scrub, so use the ‘Body Lotion’ option, it will work out the correct safety data in the right category for you with those settings. 

You Will Need:

• Mixing bowl
• Measuring cups
• Stainless steel spoon
• Large jar or container with an airtight lid
• Label

Ingredients:

• 1 cup Sea Salt - Fine Ground (Sodium chloride) (Do not use table salt please)!
• 1 cup Brown Sugar - any size, just as long as it is not too coarse. (Saccharum Officinarum Extract)
• ½ cup of Argan Carrier Oil (Argania Spinosa)
• ½ cup of Castor Carrier Oil (Ricinus communis)
• 15 ml of NO. 1004 Soaps and Candles Fragrance Oil

Optional Ingredients:

• Preservative - follow your individual manufacturer's guidance.
• Exfoliants like crushed walnut shells or peach kernels. 
• Colorant of your choice.

Safety:

• Don’t choose salts or sugars that are too coarse and can damage your delicate skin. 

Method:

1. Measure out your carrier oils and add your NO. 1004 Soaps and Candles fragrance oil, stir well to combine.
2. Measure out your salt and sugar into the mixing bowl. Add any exfoliants now and stir thoroughly.
3. Add your carrier and fragrance oils and stir well until the oil is evenly mixed through the salt and sugar crystals. 
4. If you wish to add colorant, follow your manufacturer's guidelines.
5. Decant into an airtight jar and label listing all ingredients for safety reasons.

How To Use:

1. Do a 24 -48 hour patch test before using for the first time.
2. Scoop some of the mixture out with a wooden scoop or spoon, this stops you from introducing bacteria from your hands into the Foot Scrub. 
3. Work it gently into your feet, pay attention to areas of hard dry skin, and give those a good scrub. Be gentle over delicate skin and avoid any broken skin or cracked heels. 
4. Once you have given your feet a good scrub, rinse off with clean water. Now if it is feeling too oily for you, rinse off with warm, soapy water or use a paper towel to soak up any excess. 
5. For best results follow with our Foot Balm. Then pop on a pair of socks for 20 minutes to help the oils soak in and hydrate your feet beautifully.

Foot Balm 

Now this is REALLY thick and rich on the skin. If you find it is too thick for you in the mixing bowl, follow the instructions on adding Aqueous Cream and water in this tutorial.

IFRA Safety and Guidelines

In IFRA Category 5A -  NO. 1004 Soaps and Candles fragrance oil has a maximum safety dilution recommendation of just 15.61%. This means you cannot use more than 15.61ml of NO. 1004 in 100ml of Foot Balm.

There is no option on the VINEVIDA calculator for Foot Balm so use the ‘Body Lotion’ option, it will work out the correct safety data in the right category for you with those settings. 

You Will Need:

• Hand or Electric Whisk
• Double Boiler
• Mixing bowl
• Measuring spoons
• Silicone spatula
• Stainless steel spoon
• Jar funnel
• 100ml bottle and lid
• Label

Ingredients:

• 3 tbsp Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii)
• 6 tbsp Beeswax (Cera alba)
• 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Coconut Carrier Oil (solid) (Cocos Nucifera )
• 4 tbsp Sweet Almond Carrier Oil (Prunus dulcis)
• 1 tbsp of Rosehip Carrier Oil (Rosa Canina)
• 2 tbsp Glycerin (Glycerol)
• 2 tbsp of Honey - Manuka if you can get it! (Mel)
• 1 tsp of Vitamin E (Tocopheryl)
• 15 ml of NO. 1004 Soaps and Candles Fragrance Oil

Optional:  Preservative - follow your individual manufacturer's guidance.

Safety:

• Always carry out a 24-48 hour patch test. 
• Always pop on a pair of socks after application to avoid slips, trips, and falls. 

Method:

Please follow these instructions precisely. It will help to avoid a lumpy outcome! (If you are wondering, it is most unlike me to tell you to follow something precisely, so you can deduce that it’s really important)! 

1. Note when and how much of your preservative to add. Follow the individual manufacturer's guidance as they can vary. 

Melting the Butters and Wax

1. Over low to medium heat, set your double boiler. Please make sure that the base is not touching the water, as the last thing you want to do is scorch or burn your precious butter and waxes. You want to heat your butter as little as humanly possible to preserve all their benefits. Go gentle with the heat, please.
2. When the double boiler has warmed through, add your beeswax and let it melt slowly.
3. Once the wax is half melted, add the Shea Butter.
4. Once that is half melted, add the solid Coconut carrier oil.
5. The moment everything becomes molten, remove them from the heat, separate the pan from the water, and pour the molten oils and waxes into a bowl that you can fit in the fridge.

Cooling The Mix

1. Place the bowl in the fridge for 20-30 minutes, you want it to just start to solidify again but not so much that it becomes solid.
2. While you are waiting, measure out the rest of your carrier oils and ingredients and have them ready to hand as you will want to work quickly. 
3. As soon as the wax and butter have started to solidify, remove them from the fridge.
4.  If it is not in a large bowl, decant it into one and use a good quality silicone spatula to help you get every last morsel out of the bowl. Waste not, want not! 

Mixing

1. Set your bowl on a folded cloth on a flat surface to stop it slipping around, you will need to use both hands! 
2. Very gently and slowly start to whisk the contents of the bowl, and add the carrier oils in a thin, slow stream. 
3. Allow the stream of oil to become incorporated before adding any more.
4. Whisk in the Glycerine, Honey, and Vitamin E Capsules and mix well.
5. (This is where you want to check the skin feel, if it is too thick for you follow the instructions in this tutorial from point number 12). 
6. Have one last thorough whisk to ensure that all ingredients are fully incorporated.
7. Add your NO. 1004 Soaps and Candles Fragrance Oil and mix thoroughly until wonderfully fragrant.

Finishing 

1. Decant into 300ml /10 fl oz jars and clean the rims carefully to discourage any formation of mold. 
2. Cover with a soft clean cloth and allow to cool fully (or it could go moldy - hear me on this) 
3. Once fully cooled lid tightly
4. Label clearly, listing all of the ingredients for safety reasons. Date it too!

How to Use:

1. Please do a 24- 48 hour patch test before using it on your body.
2. This is such a beautifully rich cream, and it is too heavy for your face, so just confine it to your body and preferably your hands and feet. Because it is so rich we don’t recommend using it daily, 1-2 times a week is more than enough and it is probably best used at night.
3. Really slather it onto your feet (and hands).
4. Avoid your intimate areas though, please!
